Question - When I attempt to log in I receive a message telling me to enable Active X-How do I do this? Also, you may just have a greyed out Play button that you are unable to click.

Answer - Open Internet Explorer and do the following:

1. Click on Tools menu
2. Click Internet Options
3. Click on the "Security" tab
4. Click on the "Custom Level..." button
5. Optimally you want to set the first five options under "ActiveX controls as follows (the three marked for "Enable or Prompt" must be set to one of those):
- Download signed ActiveX: Enable
- Download unsigned ActiveX: Disable
- Initialize and Script ActiveX controls not marked as safe: Disable
- Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins: Enable
- Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting: Enable
6. Scroll down until you see the section labeled "Scripting" - set all 3 options under that section (Active Scripting, Allow paste operations via script, and Scripting of Java applets) to either "Enable"
7.Click the "OK" button twice to save settings and close the Internet Options dialog box.

Question - I logged on to the schedule page, but I don't see a new episode for this week.

Answer - You may have Internet Explorer set to not refresh pages. You may have to change the settings in Internet Explorer. Open IE and go to Tools-->Internet Options. Under the Temporary Internet files, the checkbox for "Check for new versions of stored pages" should be set to "Automatically". Click OK twice and refresh your browser window. (You may need to close IE and re-open it as well)

Question - The video plays back in a small window, how can I make it bigger?

Answer - Once the video begins playing, you can right-click with your mouse in the center of the video and choose "Full Screen" from the menu. To exit fullscreen mode, just double click the video window.

Below is a list of minimum recommended requirements to view "Weekly Wisdom"

Question - I don't have a dsl/cable modem. Can I still use the Weekly Wisdom Service?

Answer - Dial-Up connections at 56k have been reported to work with the audio-only stream of these talks-but due to the large difference in connections, we make no guarantees!

Question - Why do I have to sign in?

Answer - Weekly Wisdom uses something called DRM – Digital Rights Management. DRM is a technology used by content providers, such as online stores, to control how the digital media files you obtain from them are used and distributed. A file that is protected with DRM requires media usage rights to be delivered with the file. The media usage rights define how the protected file can be used. For example, each episode of Weekly Wisdom includes a license that allows you to play a file up to 3 times on one computer each week.

Question - When I attempt to watch a video I get a message saying "This media file has been licensed to another computer. You do not have a license to view this media file on this computer or you have exceeded the number of plays for the week."

Answer - You are attempting to play the video or audio stream on a different computer than you acquired a license for. Each time you watch the video for the week a file is placed on your computer called a "license". Once you have signed in on one computer, you are locked in to playing the file on that computer until next weeks program is aired and you sign on again. Due to bandwidth limitations, we limit the number of times you can view a file each week. Currently we limit you to 3 views of each week, so if you exceed this limit, you may get this message as well.

Question- When clicking a video link from some internet browsers (such as Firefox) you may see a pop-up window stating something like “An external application must be launched to handle mms: links”. This scares me. Should I worry about this?
Answer - No. Some browsers watch out for your security and warn you of anything that tries to open something besides the browser. Weekly Wisdom will merely open up Windows Media Player, which is not a threat to your computer. Simply click the “Launch Application” button to open Windows Media Player.  You may also check the “Remember my choice….” box so the window doesn’t display the next time.

Question- Windows Media Player tells me ”A security upgrade is required to play this file. Do you want to download this upgrade?” Should I worry about this?
Answer - No. Go ahead and press “Yes” and allow Windows Media Player to update itself.  This means your Windows Media Player hasn't received the security update to protect your computer from viruses. This is a necessary step to view the video streams from Father Corapi.

Question- I am prompted to download a new version of Windows Media Player in order to play the file.
Answer - You either are running a version of Windows Media Player that is too old, or need security updates to view Weekly Wisdom. Go ahead and install the required software when prompted to do so. You should only have to do this once.

Question- The video will not play at all, or opens in something other than Windows Media Player (i.e. Real Player)

Answer- Sometimes Windows Media Player is not the default program to play video files. To fix this in Windows XP, try this:

Go to Start --- Set Program Access and Defaults
Once there, choose Custom on the left, and click the arrows on the right next to Custom.
Then under "Choose a default media player", choose Windows Media Player.

Click OK, and try again.
Please Note: You must have Windows Media Player version 9 or greater to view the video. Weekly Wisdom does not currently support Macintosh computers. Under the Windows Start menu, there is also a "Help and Support" link. This contains many tools to help you trouble shoot sound and video problems.

Question- Video is choppy, freezes and cuts out. Video may freeze while audio continues to play.
Answer - This is due to a problem with your internet connection being too slow. (Weekly Wisdom does not support Dial Up connections for video). If you have a DSL or Cable internet connection, there may be other problems associated with busy internet traffic out of your home or office, or your ISP (Internet Service Provider) may be having troubles. Try again later. If the problem persists, you may need to call your ISP.

Question- I can't hear anything/the sound is too quiet.
Answer - Make sure your speakers or headphones are turned up/plugged in. Most computers have a speaker icon in the bottom right corner of the screen that may be turned down or set to "Mute". Try clicking this to turn up your computer volume. Under the Windows Start menu, there is also a "Help and Support" link. This contains many tools to help you trouble shoot sound and video problems.
