The Teaching of Jesus Christ Series
In the year 1996, Fr. John Corapi, at the request of Bishop William K. Weigand, bishop of the diocese of Sacramento, California, first presented his widely acclaimed series "The Teaching of Jesus Christ". In this series Father Corapi synthesized the entire "Catechism of the Catholic Church" into 48 lectures of approximately one hour each. The series was presented one Saturday each month for the twelve months of 1996.
More than 2,000 people participated in the live presentations, which included not only 4 lectures each Saturday, but also an hour of question and answer at the end of the day. The entire series was professionally audio and video taped.
As a direct result of the live presentations thousands of people learned the essence of the Catholic Church's teaching in faith and morals. A large number of Christians of all denominations entered the Catholic Church, subsequently going through parish RCIA programs and being received into the Church at the Easter vigil. Likewise, a number of Jewish, Islamic, Buddhist, and other persons entered the Catholic Church as a direct result of attending Fr. Corapi's lectures. Eternal Word Television Network has played the series in a prime time slot of 8:00 PM Eastern time Sunday evening since. |

EWTN finished it under the title "Father Corapi and the Catechism". The collaboration with EWTN, which included the Network's masterful artistic contributions, runs episodes 1-50 consecutively (each episode somewhat shorter than original in order to accommodate program breaks and introductions and endings), then beginning with episode 1 again.
